You do not need advocacy experience—just a willingness to stand with Kentuckians who rely on HCBS.
Why volunteer
Home and Community-Based Services protect daily life: therapies, respite, supported employment, personal care, and the routines Kentuckians and their DSPs have built over years. When legislators hear from neighbors—not just statistics—they listen. Volunteers help those voices reach every corner of the Commonwealth.
Rally volunteer roles (July 17)
Our biggest immediate need is support for KY Disability Waiver Town Hall & Rally at the Capitol. When you register, choose “Volunteer” or “Both” and select the roles you are open to:
- Greeter / check-in at rallies and events
- Sign-making and materials prep
- Setup and teardown
- Family support and quiet sensory space
- Photography and social media
- Legislator outreach and phone banking
- Translation (Spanish and other languages)
- County outreach and story collection
Ongoing volunteer opportunities
Beyond July 17, we need help year-round:
- Sharing campaign updates in your church, school, or community group.
- Connecting us with families willing to share their stories (with permission).
- Distributing printed materials in your county.
- Helping organize future events and town halls.
- Providing rides or childcare so families can attend Frankfort.

Who can volunteer
Students, retirees, providers, DSPs, siblings, and self-advocates are all welcome. Minors should volunteer with a parent or guardian. We match tasks to your availability—even one hour a month makes a difference.
